The "Freshen Up" Project: Apple Farm's Redecoration of
Rooms
The Apple Farm is proud to announce that we have started redecorating and updating rooms
throughout our 104 room property. The project started in fall of 2009 and we have
already completed 30 different rooms on the property. This project is led by our General Manager, Dean Hutton, and features the wonderful handy work of our Maintenance Manager,
Sergio Bernal and his entire maintenance team. All
of the upholstery work in the rooms is done on property by Andy Vasques who
creates each piece individually to match the unique theme of each room.
The first room we will feature is the ever popular Room 100. Room 100 has always been a
favorite of our loyal guests because of its unique octagonal shape, large
soaking bath tub, and 24 hour private access to Apple Farm's pool and jacuzzi.
The original Room 100 (pictured right) featured a color palate of primarily
blues, greens, pinks, and yellows. The wallpaper was fairly simple with a
ribbon accent running through a floral background. Along with the floral
pattern, the bedspread was in a blue stripe and the other accent features in
the room were in blue plaid. The bathroom of the original room was tiled in
porcelain white with a stall shower and large garden tub.
When Pamela began her process of planning the redecoration of this room, she decided
that she really wanted to freshen the room's decor without losing our signature
traditional style. She determined that the best way to accomplish this was
through a lighter color palate in an effort to create a soothing atmosphere and
reflect the general relaxation that this room brings to so many guests. The
wallpaper was replaced with one that features a soft aqua color evoking the
color of water which reflects the room's proximity to the hotel pool. To stay
in line with our traditional look, she chose a soft floral pattern for the
wallpaper made up of pale shades of pink. The aqua tones are woven throughout
the room in the upholstered striped loveseat and accent pillows on the wicker
chair and on the bed. The bedding is also soft and serene in color with very
small floral accents on the throw pillows. The armoire was painted over in a
clean ivory to reflect the serene surroundings. To finish the look, Pamela
added a few cut glass lamps and vintage plates to make it feel as comfortable
and cozy as your own home with the luxury of a resort hotel. In the bathroom,
the cozy serenity continues with ivory painted walls and travertine tile
throughout. The shower has been redone in all travertine tile and we added a
travertine backsplash to the garden tub. The newly updated vanity and sink tie
in nicely to enhance the room's new decor. The new room is fresh, cozy, and
serene and still features French doors leading out to the pool and jacuzzi.
When you next visit the Apple Farm, request to stay in Room 100. We hope you
find it as beautiful and cozy as we do.
